Discovery Inn
Discovery Inn is a boutique luxury hotel in the heart of Dili, Timor-Leste. The cool comfort of the Discovery Inn is ideal for all travelers to Dili. The unique hotel is housed in a renovated Portuguese colonial building on Avenida Presidente Nicolau Lobato; a central location close to Parliament House and popular cafes and within strolling distance of the beach.
Discovery Inn is also home to Diya Restaurant – a fine dining restaurant that is acclaimed as Dili’s best. Discovery Inn offers a boutique hotel experience unlike any other in Timor-Leste. The hotel offers many perks, such as the complimentary happy hour (2 drinks free daily) with gourmet finger food at the deck bar as well as complimentary airport pick-up and drop-off with refreshments.
When I was picked up from the airport I was met with cold water and some very tasty chocolates. It was a great start to my stay! I really enjoyed the ride into town along the coast and before I knew it I had arrived at Discovery Inn. I felt so welcomed from the very start of my stay!
My room was upstairs near the Deck Bar which was a very enjoyable place to sit and relax. My room itself was great as well! It was very clean and had everything that I might need. I felt right at home! After resting for a bit I headed to have dinner at Diya Restaurant. It was filled with many other foreigners and I really enjoyed my evening at the restaurant. I had the very tasty schnitzel dish! When I asked for the bill I found out that they had made my dinner complimentary as well. It was so very nice of them and really made my night!
I slept very well at Discovery Inn before having a great breakfast the next morning. There were so many tasty options to order! After breakfast I had the shuttle drop me off at the beach so I could explore Dili for a bit before heading back to the airport. I really appreciated how kind everyone that I encountered at Discovery Inn was. From the very beginning of my stay until I returned at the airport I could not have felt more at home in Timor-Leste!
